Welcome, Be Encouraged is an interactive site where you can read and share your testimonies. The aim of this site is to encourage individuals going through various situations in life. We realise the power of hearing a testimony and how empowered one feels afterwards, so instead of waiting for Sunday morning you can visit us any time for a pick me up.
We also understand not everyone has the neccesary skill or feel comfortable standing on a church platform to share a testimony; we believe this is an alternative. So go ahead send your testimonies to testimonies@beencouraged.org and start sharing.

Dealing with lifes challenges can put pressure on our walk with Christ.
“Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. 46 After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray. 47 Later that night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. 48 He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. Shortly before dawn he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, 50 because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 51 Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, 52 for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.”
Life can be likened to a boat on a lake or sea. The winds of life can be against us just as the wind was against the disciples. When the winds are against us we need to strain at the oars in order not to get drowned. The winds of life can blow in many forms against you: Career or business winds can blow against you, Financial wind can blow against you, Family wind can blow against you, Relationship wind can blow against you, Health wind can blow against you and Education wind can blow against you as well. What do you do when it gets tough straining at the oars when the winds of life are against you? What you need is peace.The peace of God that can calm down any wind that is blowing against you in your life.When Jesus climbed into the boat with the disciples the wind died down! Hallelujah! How can you sail to your destination when the wind is constantly against you? You could even get drowned when the wind is not calmed down because at a point you could lose the energy of constantly paddling the oars. The verse 48 of the Amplified version reads:
“48And having seen that they were troubled and tormented in [their] rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night [between 3:00-6:00 a.m.] He came to them, walking [directly] on the sea. And He acted as if He meant to pass by them,”
Are you troubled and tormented in your rowing against the winds of life? Are you overwhelmed with what you are facing now in your life? Take heart. Don’ t be afraid. Don’t despair.There is a solution. The solution is JESUS. Allow Jesus into your life’s boat and He will calm down any wind against you, so that you will have the peace of God to smoothly paddle the oars through life and reach your destinations safely.
